Also this week, I finished another UFO that in inherited last year from my good friend, Barb that passed away in August. You might remember, I volunteered to finish her quilt projects that she was working on for her family. These scrappy squares were started with her young niece, Brooke who was 9 or 10 years old. Brooke helped pick her own fabrics and even sewed some of the blocks herself. I quilted it with Dragon Fly by Pattern Man Designs. She certainly won't need a quilt for a few more months since it's going to be in the high 90's tomorrow, but it's ready and waiting for her to snuggle in when winter gets here. I'm sure she will have fond memories of her time spent with her aunt Barb making her quilt top.

You are a WONDERFUL friend to have done this for Barb! The quilting is perfect for a young girl! The way you have those pillow cases arranged looks like an autumn wreath!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing up Barb's quilt. Her family must really appreciate your hard work.
ReplyDeleteGreat stash numbers too!
You're so kind and generous with your sewing and quilting time. The pillow cases and special quilt are wonderful. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteSpecial quilt to bring special memories. Woohoo on almost using up the dragon fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou have me laughing with your dragon fabric. Did you purchase all that fabric or inherit it. Either way the recipients will be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the finished project of your friend's - I have finished many UFOs as well and it is great to know they will comfort the family who is missing their relative.
ReplyDeleteFun pillow cases! Doo you have a favorite pattern for them? Love the quilt. It sure was nice of you to make it. I loved the way you quilted it also. Do you have a longarm or is it FMQ?
ReplyDeleteI bet you'll be very happy when that fabric is gone -- how many yards did you start with? Congrats on another finish for Barb. I know her niece will love it. What a precious gift.
