Stash Report - Week #2

Got in a little sewing this week. I found some more coordinating fabric for another cuff on those dragon pillowcases and made a bunch of reversible binding for this quilt.

The top side of the binding is the red and white stripe and the reverse side matches the backing material. This is a good binding to use when you don't have enough for a one color binding.  I use 1" wide strips for the front color and 1 and 1/2" wide strips for the back color.  Does this look like 420 inches of binding?  Trust me, it is.  Now the fun part begins.

The binding yardage was counted last week since it had been cut, so I can only add one yard used this week for the pillowcase..

Fabric Added - 0
Fabric Used - 1 yd
Fabric Added YTD - 0
Fabric Used YTD - 9 yds
Net used in 2015 - 9 yds

  1. That's a great idea to handle the binding that way! I like the quilt, especially the striped inner border that gives it a bit of zing.

  4. You're so dedicated to tracking your fabric usage! I just depend on knowing whether or not I can close my fabric cabinet doors! It's neat to see how you ingeniously make two-color binding. Bet it's going to look smashing.

  6. You have used almost as much as I've added this year. Please show the quilt when it is bound. I'm having a hard time picturing how it will look.
