OTN - Fri. March 18

On my way to the toes!!  Haven't made much progress on this pair of socks.  I'm still on the first sock, but now it should go faster.

I've been preparing for our big quilt show this weekend, and today is set up time.  So off I go to help hang 400 quilts for our grand opening on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 & 20.  If you are in the St. Louis area, stop by and see all the wonderful quilts, vendors, demonstrations on new techniques, antique bed turning, door prizes and lots of inspiration.  We are at Queeny Park in Ballwin, MO.  It's easy to find, just a little west of I-270 off of Manchester Road. Here's the link for Fanfare of Quilts 2016.

Fabric Report - March 6, 2016

It's been a few weeks since reporting Stash, as I was busy quilting and binding my Rainbow Soul Searching quilt and working on a mystery quilt.  When I got ready to sew on the previously cut and made binding for this quilt, I realized that I didn't like the way it looked. Remember this? It looks ok here, but not when it was put on the quilt.
1st binding

So you know what that means, right? Back to the stash to find something else.  Luckily there was enough of the darker black and white to make another binding.  I am counting the new binding as stash used too.

Hanging sleeve and 2nd binding choice

The other binding will get used later and I won't re-count that one.

Here's a peek at the new binding and quilting. The quilting is not perfect because I did it on my domestic Bernina but I could not find my quilting tool to help with the spacing of the lines on the big spiral quilting.  However, it is finished and it's not destined for any major shows like Paducah or Houston so I'm happy with the quilting.

On another note, I received another Quilt of Valor top from Mary C one of my friends.  She also provided the backing, binding and presentation pillowcase to match.  I think this is one of the prettiest patterns and the perfect size for our QOVs.  Thanks so much Mary for all your time and effort piecing this and donating it to our veterans.  We will hand quilt it soon.

Used stash since the first week in February that can be counted now.
